Character History:
Hi, I'm Kira. you knew that. I knew you knew that. I don't know why I just told you that again.
Kira Yukimura is born and raised in New York to Ken and Noshiko. Ken who is actually of Korean decent but took his wife's last name because she was the last of her family line, was a professor at Columbia before moving to Beacon Hills to teach history at the high school.
The real reason for the move, which Kira doesn't learn about until later is because the Nogitsune is back, the Nogitsune that Noshiko summoned back during world war 2.
Kira is in Beacon Hills for three weeks before her father starts teaching at the high school, embarrassing her in class on his first day by telling everyone she hasn't made any friends yet. Kira proceeds to bury her face in her arms and later tells her dad that if she wanted to be noticed she would set herself on fire. “But then you’d be dead.” “Exactly.”
She does notice Scott though and later interjects herself into the group's conversation about the mental issues and scary hallucinations they are having after dying for a short period of time. She tells them is sounds like an in-between state studied in Tibetan Buddhism called Bardo that makes the person susceptible to spirits like demons, not realizing they are talking about it because they are experiencing it for themselves.
The next day at school she tells Scott that she did some research on Bardo but forgets her papers at him, she's once again embarrassed by her father who hands them to her remarking that they are for the boy she likes.
Scott and Stiles leave class to go to the nurse because Stiles is having a panic attack and after class Kira notices they left their bags. She grabs them to bring to the nurses office and is attacked by a Coyote (which is really Malia) and chased into the locker room.
She is about to be attacked when Scott appears and knocks the lockers over chasing Malia away. She later explains to her father that she was returning the bags because she wanted to do something nice because that's how you make friends.
It's like every time I open my mouth I start rambling like an idiot.
Next we see Kira it's during a school lock down. She’s eating lunch with her father, who is asking her why she hasn’t made any friends. She tells him that she doesn’t know, she had a lot of friends back home but here she just seems to ramble like an idiot. They joke that the only thing that’s shown interest in her is a coyote and she tells him thats she's not interested in having a boyfriend right now she just wants to make some friends.
The school is in lock down because William Barrow- a convicted serial killer has escaped. When he was arrested last time it was because he was trying to blow up a bus full of high school students. Stiles realizes that he’s in the locked down school and pulls the fire alarm so everyone can go home. Kira was in the library listening to headphones at the time and didn’t hear the alarm. She get sent home by Coach but not before we see Barrow watching her.
Once she makes it home she finds out that her dad has invited Scott over for a ‘Thank you for saving my daughter from being coyote dinner” dinner. The door bell rings and with an adorable squeak Kira goes to change into something "cuter" while her parents let Scott in. They sit down to Sushi which Scott admits to having never eaten before and Kira asks what happened to the lasagne they were supposed to have. To which her dad admit he was trying to impress Scott. Kira helps Scott with his chopsticks which he is adorably inept at and conversation turns to Kira's parents. Her father is actually Korean but took on his wife's name because she was the last of her line and in Japan you can't hyphenate a name, it has to be one family name.
The conversation is cut off when Scott eats all his wasabi thinking it was Guacamole and Kira tries her best not to laugh. The two later get some pizza and some Pepsi which seems to be a better option and they bond while eating it.
Meanwhile Lydia and Stiles are searching the school for clues as to what Barrow is after and find Kira's name written on the blackboard in code from the periodic table. They go to warn Scott but it's too late. Barrow had ambushed Scott and Kira when they were leaving her house, knocking him out and kidnapping her.
The three quickly deduce (using Lydia's banshee power) that he's taken Kira to the power station. We see her tied up on the floor with extension cords and Barrow has pulled on of the power cables out and is dragging it along the fence. He puts it down long enough to take her picture saying that with proof everyone will see and believe him.
Scott, Stiles, and Lydia show up and Stiles backs Lydia stay in the car because he "only has one bat" which becomes significant later.
Scott rushes in to save Kira and Barrow hits him with the power cable and knocks him to the floor. Werewolves are very susceptible to electricity. He's still shaking from the blast but he's trying to distract Barrow from Kira saying he's the one Barrow wants but he can't get his eyes to glow. Barrow ignores him and turns back to Kira touching her with the cable. Barrow is blasted back and Kira starts to glow a bright white color. The glare is blinding and when it settled Kira has absorbed the electricity into her hands which causes a city wide blackout. She is staring at Scott visibly shocked and confused.
The four are brought into the police station and are interrogated by Scott's dad, an FBI agent. He wants to know how they all ended up there and Stiles makes up a story about making a good guess because Barrow used to work at the power station. Agent McCall doesn't believe them but he has no other choice than to let them go but not before taking Kira's phone as evidence.
We see her next taking a selfie with the flash on. The picture comes out with her surrounded by a glowing aura and that's what Barrow saw in the photos he took on her phone she knows she needs to get it back.
At school Scott finds her eating lunch in the hall and sits down next to her. She tells him she doesn't want to talk about what happened so he starts to talk about a test they have that week. Kira tells him to take a photo of her and shows him the aura. She tells him that it started a few months ago and she doesn't know what it means. Scott knows it means she's supernatural in some way keeps it to himself but promises to help her get her phone back.
With Stiles' help they break into the police station and manage to delete the photos but not before almost getting caught. Kira is giddy from the entire experience asking if they have every done something like that before. Scott, amused and wanting to spend more time with her asks her to the Halloween black light party and she agrees.
The three head off getting to the loft where the party is in full swing. Stiles goes off on his own and Scott grabs hold of Kira's hand so they don't get lost. Which is great until they catch sight of Alison watching them. Feeling the awkwardness rolling off them in waves Kira drops Scott's hand and disappears into the crowd.
Scott uses his enhanced vision to look for her and spots her with the aura surrounding her in the image of a fox. They meet back up and go out of the roof to talk. Kira notices pain on Scott's cheek and licks her finger to get it off. Laughing awkwardly and saying that she just mom'd him. Their conversation turns more serious and Kira admits she's surprised that he didn't run from her when he saw the picture. She thinks it's makes her look like a demon from hell. Scott tells her that he doesn't, that it looks like it's protecting her and that it looks like a fox.
Meanwhile the Oni, which look like demon ninjas, are at the party and attack Ethan and Lydia, marking them like they did to Isaac and Derek with a backwards 5. Derek clears the party from his Loft and the Oni come back to attack the rest of the group. They wolves fight but the Oni are unstoppable and get to Aidan and then turn to Scott whose eyes are glowing red and whose partially turned. The Oni disappear as the sun rises and Scott turns to look at Kira realizing she's seen the entire thing.
Scott drives her home and she asks him if that mean all his friends are werewolves. He says yes and then Kira asks to see. To see him transformed, he hesitates looking around before taking off his helmet, his face changed to his werewolf form. Instead of being scared Kira is intrigued reaching forward and touching him gently. Scott lets out a breath, visibly relieved that she hasn’t run for the hills yet.
Later that night Scott brings Kira home with him, scared that the demon ninjas are after her and not wanting her to get hurt. He tells her his house has a type of security that will keep the supernatural out but his mom is the only one who can trigger it when she gets home. Kira shows him a book on Japanese mythology telling him that she thinks she's a Kitsune. There’s a picture of a fox surrounded by lightening and she tells him that when a kitsune rubs its tails together it can create electricity called fox fire. She is quick to assure him that she doesn’t have any tails but that she can read minds. She lets him look freaked out for a minute before laughing and telling him she's joking. She tells Scott that her parents expect her home and he tells her to tell them she's on a date. She asks if thats a good idea because wolves and foxes don’t get along, showing him a picture of a fox surrounded by wolves. Scott closes the book and tells her its just a drawing. He leans in to kiss her and they are interrupted by what he thinks is his mother getting home. Kira is clearly bummed they didn’t kiss.
Its not actually Scott’s mother but his estranged father. His father has a photo of them breaking into his office and deleting the images off Kira’s phone and he demands to know how they had a key to his office. Scott’s mom comes home during this confrontation and Kira suddenly points out that the sun has gone down. The Oni appear right away and Scott’s father, trying to protect everyone, attacks them and gets stabbed. Derek and the twins show up and fight the Oni out of the house while Scott’s mom throws down the mountain ash, locking them out on the porch.
Kira puts her hand up tot he doorway is it shocked, pulling her hand back and realizing she’s trapped inside. The twins see this and demand to know what she is and Derek calls them idiots and tells them she’s a Kitsune. That he can see it all over her Aura and she must be a young one because the young ones don’t know how to hide their auras.
Kira is convinced that the Oni are after her because she’s a dark spirit, that Kitsunes are tricksters. Scott tries to convince her that she’s not, and thats he’s seen evil and she’s not evil. Eventually Alison calls and explains to Scott that the Oni are and that they are just looking for a Nogitsune, a dark Kitsune and once they find out that Scott and Kira aren’t Nogitsune they will leave. Kira isn’t convinced she’s not actually the Nogitsune but Scott believes and offers her his hand asking if she trusts him. She nods and takes it and they both let the Oni check them proving that they are not actually dark spirits. We soon find out that the Nogitsune is actually possessing Stiles.
The night Stiles goes missing while sleep walking Kira is in her room and the light bulb in her lamp dies, she calls for her mom and goes to unscrew it when she notices that electricity flows from her finger tips into the bulb lighting it up before bursting it. Her mom comes in and asks her what she’s done, impatiently unscrewing the broken bulb and screwing a new one in. Kira notices that the same thing happens, minus the bulb bursting. She says nothing but gives her mother a look when she’s leaving.
The next day at school she tries to get Scott’s attention to tell him what happened but he’s preoccupied with the tests Stiles is having done later that day. Instead Derek finds her and tells her that he can help. She asks why he would want to, not trusting him, and he says he wants to know everything that happened at the power plant with Barrow. They leave school and head there, and she explains what happened that night. They find Stiles’ bat that has been magnetized and is stuck to one of the metal power units. Derek tells her that he thinks the Nogitsune used her powers to jumpstart his in Stiles.
The two head to the hospital to tell Scott Derek’s theory. Kira thinks its best that she wait outside since he’s about to tell Scott it was pretty much her fault that Stiles is the Nogitsune. It a good thing she waits outside because Derek and Scott realize that the Nogitsune had Stiles do something on the roof the night before, they go up to investigate and find one of the power lines cut and fraying. Before they can do anything the hospital begins to lose power and the cord snaps flying off the roof and down towards the ground below. Down towards Kira. It whips towards her and then by her causing an ambulance to lose control and hit a fire hydrant spilling water into the parking lot. The live wire hits the water electrifying it and electrocuting anyone who steps into the water, including Isaac who pushed Alison out of the way. Acting on instinct she jumps over a car thats barreling towards her, flipping over the back of it and landing in the water. She grabs the power line and puts her hand over the end of it absorbing the electricity from it as her eyes glow amber. Kira’s mother see her and pulls her away in the resulting chaos telling her that its not time for people to see her power.
Kira overhears her parents talking at the school. Her dad is hiding something for her mother in one of the books in school. He tells her that she needs to talk to Kira about this.
Her father asks how many tails she's going to sacrifice, and that three of the Oni are dead. Her mother takes out one of her tails, a black knife, and snaps it in two, repeating the process with another. She says that these Oni will be stronger, much stronger. She will sacrifice as many tails as she has to for this.
This leaves Kira more confused than ever and wanting answers, but there are more important things, like the bomb that went off at the police station.
Kira rushes there to find Scott and Stiles to tell them that the Oni are coming. The three leave the chaos and head for the Vet's knowing its protected by mountain ash. Before they can get inside they are ambushed and Kira and Scott try to fight off the Oni while Stiles tries to escape. One of the Oni stabs Scott with its sword and they manage to get Scott inside with the sword still in him. Kira is trying to help and that's when they realize that it isn't Stiles, and it hasn't been. It's the Nogitsune acting like Stiles. He pulls Kira away from Scott and slams her head down on the metal exam table knocking her out.
Deaton comes in after Stiles starts torturing Scott and injects him with a poison for the Nogitsune. Stiles is himself for a while as the poison is keeping the Nogitsune at bay. Chris Argent and Deaton tell Scott and Alison about a scroll that could hold the answer to exorcizing the Nogitsune. Unfortunately it's currently in police custody. The group devises a plan to steal the scroll.
Kira having been left out of the discussions shows up at Scott's house and asks if she can help. He tells her no because he doesn't want her to get hurt, and people tend to get hurt around him. She brings out her katana and tells him that she's been practicing and that she's really good at using it. Showing him some moves and insisting that she can help. Scott finally relents and they head out.
Kira's job is to fit the armored truck the scroll is being transferred in with a GPS tracker. As soon as she does the deputy comes out and Kira hides. Only for the group to find out the driver has been murdered and someone got there first. Another werewolf wants the scroll because it's worth $3 million. A fight ensues that Kira takes part in and eventually they come out on top getting the scroll.
Kira and Scott are in her room looking at a photo from 1943 that was found in Eichen House on a corpse with a broken katana and a scabbard. The woman in the photo looks like Kira and they think it may be her grandmother.
Kira gets a text from her father who has been attacked by the Nogitsune. They rush to the school with a small vial of "reishi" her mother told them to bring which Kira calls magic mushrooms. It does the trick and heals her father. They explain that the Nogitsune was there looking for the last of her mother's tails which she admits she has kept on her ever since Stiles disappeared.
Kira shows her mother the picture and asks if it's her grandmother and her mother, who we finally find out is named Noshiko, admits that it's her. And that's she's close to 900 years old. Kira, visibly freaked out but also rolling with the information asks her father how old he is. To which he replies "43 but I've been told I look mid 30s."
She gives the broken katana and scabbard to Noshiko who places all the pieces on the table, reassembling them. She tells them it broke the last time it fought the Nogitsune in 1943 and she needs Kira's help. Because a Thunder Kitsune can put it back together. This is the first time Kira finds out the type of Kitsune she is and also the first time her mother admits to knowing anything about it.
She goes on the explain that the Nogitsune came from her back in 1943 and that its back again. She explains that she was in an Japanese internment camp and she fell in love with an American officer. When the prisoners start to fall ill with pneumonia they find out that the camp doctor and two soldiers have been selling the medicine on the black market and there is none left for the people who are sick and they start dying. This insights a riot leading to a lot of prisoners being shot including Noshiko and for her lover to be burned alive, dying later in excruciating pain. Because Kitsunes can heal and don't get sick the shots leave Noshiko alive but just barely. She's presumed dead and is being moved with the other bodies. Angry and wanting revenge she calls upon her ancestors to let a Nogitsune possess her to take revenge on those who wronged her. She tells them that a fox is a trickster and while a Nogitsune did come down, instead of possessing her it possessed the body of her dead lover. The Nogitsune rises up and kills the men trying to hide the evidence of the bodies and steals their truck before going back to the camp and killing everyone there and at Eichen house. Noshiko confronts the nogitsune with her katana but can’t defeat him until she is helped by Satomi, a werewolf that was in the camp. They both defeat him as as they kill him a fly comes out of the soldier’s body. Noshiko traps it in a jar and buries it under the roots of the Nemeton which is where it stayed until Scott, Alison, and Stiles recharged it earlier in the year trying to save their parents.
Kira, mad at her mother for keeping this all from her for so long, uses her powers and repairs the katana which her mother then gives to her telling her she must use it to get rid of the Nogitsune.
I just found out you’re 900 years old. I may never trust you again.
Scott receives a text to get to Derek’s loft and Kira and he leave to go help but arrive too late. There was a fight with the Oni but the Oni and Stiles are gone once they arrive. Scott brings Kira back to his house because she’s too angry with her parents after finding out the truth to go home just yet. He tells her she can have the bed and he takes the lounge chair in the corner. She implores him not to sleep on the chair and eventually he gets up and lays down next to her. They kiss and he pulls her into his arms.
Scott and Lydia manage to separate Stiles and the Nogitsune, who still looks like Stiles. The Nogitsune escapes with Lydia. Stiles is scared that he’s still not himself and wants the Oni to check, they show up at Scott’s house and Kira runs in to warn them but Stiles tells her its ok. They perform their mind search or whatever they do and reveal that Stiles is in fact Stiles. Noshiko tells them that its too close to dawn for the Oni to fight the Nogitsune and they will do it tomorrow night.
The next day Noshiko sits Kira down with the board game “Go” that the Nogitsune was playing in Stiles’ mind. Kira says she doesn’t have time for games when people’s lives are on the line and Noshiko tells her that she needs to learn this game because thats exactly what this is to the dark fox, a game.
Meredith, another banshee, escapes from Eichen House because she wants to help, and shows up at the high school. Kira calls Scott and Stiles to tell them and then begs Coach not to let her get sent back yet because bad things are going to happen to all of them if he does. He replies asking who she is and she impatiently tells him that she's new. She helps Scott, Stiles, and Isaac leave with Meredith and returns home to look for her mother.
Her father tells her he doesn’t know where her mother is but that she’s trying to keep Kira out of the fight for as long as possible. He says she has a lot to learn in a very short period of time and sarcastically says “like board games?” Her father starts to explain more about it to her saying her mother’s pieces are laid out in an aggressive style and Kira says that was supposed to represent the Nogitsune and is concerned when they realize the play styles are the exact same.
The group show up at Oak Creek, the old internment camp, realizing thats where the Nogitsune is holding Lydia. Kira’s mom is there with her Oni and she tells Kira to go home. Kira says no and tells her that she realized that she wasn’t playing the Nogitsune in Go she was playing her mother suggesting that they are part of each other. Alison tells her to call the Oni off and she says “You think you can save him? Your friend is gone.” Kira argues with her telling her she just doesn’t want to admit that she should have saved the boy she loved back in 1943. She tells Kira thats she's the fox now, but the Nogitsune is still her demon to bury.
The Nogitsune gains ownership over the Oni by breaking Noshiko’s last tail and he sends them to fight the group. Kira helps Isaac and Alison fight using her katana. Alison fires one of her arrows at the Oni whose about to kill Isaac, the arrow stick and the Oni disappears into black smoke. Just then another Oni runs her through with his sword and she dies in Scott’s arms telling him to tell her dad.
The the aftermath of Alison’s death Chris Argent coaches Scott, Lydia, and Isaac on what story to tell the police.
The Yukimuras take Stiles to their house and offer him tea. They discuss how Alison managed to kill the Oni because its never been done before. Noshiko tells Stiles that the nogitsune made a powerful move splitting from Stiles’ body and that he’s always had the upperhand. What they need to figure out is how to make a “Divine Move” and turn the tables to their favor. Kira brings up the fact that her mother trapped it before and they decide to ask Deaton if they can trap it again. They figure out that Derek has a box made from the wood of the Nemeton tree that could probably hold the Nogitsune.
Derek tells them he will meet them at the school with the box. Isaac realizes that it was the silver arrowheads that Alison made that were able to take down the Oni, and she had four more left when she died.
Scott, Kira, Isaac, Stiles and Lydia get to the school. They go through the doors and walk into snow covered Japanese garden. The Nogitsune appears with the Oni and repeats his earlier threat of “we are going to kill them one by one”. The Oni surround the four. He tells them that they are in Bardo, and that he has all the pieces on the map, the police station, the hospital, the clinic and the school. He tells Scott that the only way to win the game is to kill Stiles.
Scott and Kira begin to battle the Oni in the garden and the Oni begin toe get the upper hand, Kira loses her Katana in the snow. Stiles picks up the sword and makes to kill himself but then notices something, a reflection in the blade shows him an economics text book and he realizes that its all an illusion. He tosses the sword back to Kira and tells the Nogitsune he has a divine move. He tells Kira and Scott to stop fighting the Oni, he says it will feel real and hurt but its an illusion and to trust him. The four of them walk towards the Nogitsune while being slashes at by the Oni, it hurts but they remain standing and Scott pushes the Nogitsune out the door and the illusion fades and they are in the school.
The Nogitsune knocks Scott into a locker and shoves Kira down coming at Stiles and Lydia ranting that they cannot kill him. Lydia says no but they can change him. Stiles says you can’t be a wolf and a fox just as Scott comes up behind him and bites him. Kira stabs him in the heart with her katana and he screams. A fly escapes his mouth and is trapped in the box by Isaac and the Nogitsune’s body crumbles into Ash.
In the days that follow the group tries to go back to normal. Kira talks to Lydia at school while watching Scott saying she doesn’t know how to comfort him, she’s not sure how much space to give him while he grieves. She’s just the new girl. Just then they catch sight of Malia Tate being shown around school by coach and Lydia tells Kira she’s not the new girl anymore.
Sometime later (because Teen Wolf doesn’t ever tell us how much time passes between seasons.) the pack travels to Mexico to try and find Derek whose been missing for a few weeks. They go looking for hunters named the Calaveras.
Lydia and Stiles manage to get an audience with the leader, Araya, while Scott, Kira, and Malia hide out in the crowded club. They are eventually found and taken down with Wolfsbane and captured. Scott comes to and they tell him the Araya took Lydia and that they can’t get out they’ve already tried the door.
Lydia and Araya return to find Scott bound to a chair and hooked up to electric wiring. They hook Lydia up in the same way and bring in Kira. They tell her that since she’s a fox and not susceptible to electricity she will shock Scott, if she doesn’t then Lydia will get electrocuted. Since Scott can take it and it would kill Lydia she has no choice. This is a test and if Scott answers their questions then he won’t get shocked. They don’t know where Derek is but she insists that Scott knows where he is. He keeps saying he doesn’t as Kira is forced to increase the electric charge. Araya pushes Kira out of the way and cranks the charge up and Scott realizes who has Derek and breaks the chains binding him. It’s Kate Argent who is somehow not dead.
Araya tells them that she knows where Kate is but the four men she sent to find them didn’t come back. She gives them a guide and sends them off to find Derek. Kira, Malia, Lydia, Scott and Stiles ride in Stiles’ jeep following their guide Braeden, a mercenary who has helped them in the passed and was hired to find Derek. On the way there Scott explains how Kate is alive. As they get closer to La Iglesia something hits the jeep and they can’t drive it so Scott goes ahead with Braeden. But not after a long good bye with Kira who hugs him tightly and tells him to be careful.
While they are trying to figure out how the fix the jeep, Malia finds a claw in the wheel well and they realize that something hit the jeep. Malia and Kira realize they aren’t alone and when Kira shines a light on a figure Malia goes off after it, with Kira in pursuit. They don’t catch it but they both realize its big and fast and cuts deep, as Malia was hurt by it. They get the jeep going and finally make it to La Iglesia to see Scott and Braeden exiting the ruined church with a much much younger Derek Hale.
They return to Beacon Hills with young Derek who they bring to Deaton. He tells them to leave Derek with him and to go home.
The next day Lydia and Kira are out driving and pull into a gas station. Kira is asking her how mad she would be at her if Lydia was in Scott’s position and Kira had to electrocute her. Lydia tells her to relax that she’s a badass Kitsune and Scott couldn’t be more into her. She gets out and tells Kira to grab her credit card and fill up the tank. Kira moves to do it only to realize that Lydia already has a full tank of gas. She gets out of the car in pursuit of her friend and finds that Lydia’s banshee powers lead her here, to a body that was slashed up and mutilated by an out of control Kate Argent.
Trying to find Derek whose taken off with Kate they group encounter Berserkers for the first time. Realizing how hard they are to fight. They disarm Kira very easily. And the Hale family vault is robbed of $117 million.
Kira finds a for sale sign in front of her house and confronts her parents. They explain that the move to Beacon Hills was only temporary and now they are going back to New York since the Nogitsune was taken care of. Kira argues saying that her dad can’t leave because he has an important teaching job. His come back is he was a professor at Columbia back in NY. Noshiko asks if its about Scott and Kira says no. Noshiko says she’ll have other boyfriends and Kira says “he’s not my boyfriend” before leaving in a huff.
She finds Scott in school and asks to talk but they are interrupted by Stiles. Scott tells her they can talk later and she smiles and says sure. Scott grins and says see you then before leaning in and pecking her on the lips before going to class. Kira looks stunned and it takes Scott a few moments to realize that he just kissed her. It was the first time they kissed since they kissed on Scott’s bed weeks ago and Kira is confused.
Later that afternoon Kira and Malia are watching lacrosse practice in the stands and Kira is holding a lacrosse stick. The girls are discussing Kira’s relationship with Scott and how Kira wants it to be more than it is. Scott accidentally injures one of the new kids and has to take him to the nurse, Coach gets frustrated and throws a ball towards the stands which Kira catches using the stick and throws it back impressing Coach who asks if she’s ever played.
She waits for Scott after practice and after he gets back from the nurses office. He tells her that he needs to take Liam to the hospital. She tells him its ok that they can talk later. He tries to apologize for “that thing” earlier saying he didn’t want to make it weird or awkward which he is doing. He apologizes again before dashing off leaving Kira unhappily sitting on the stairs.
And the next thing she knows she’s in Wonderland.
Abilities/Special Powers:
Kira is a Thunder Kitsune.
-She can control electricity to a certain degree. She was able to absorb massive amounts of electricity into her body, able to shut down a live electrical wire and she's able to turn light bulbs on by just touching them. We have yet to see what else she can do with this ability.
She was able to use Foxfire (a type of lightening Kitsunes can make) to repair a broken katana. There also seems to be a magical component to it.
- She shares the werewolves ability for speed and healing, able to run faster than a normal human and able to heal her wounds.
- Slow aging. It's not said if they are immortal but Kitsunes will never get sick like a human and therefore unless killed by other means they can't die like that. Kira's mother appears to be in her early 40s but is really 900 years old. Suggesting at some point the aging process slows down significantly.
- Fighting. Kira is a skilled fighter in both hand to hand and while using her katana or anything that could be a sword (at one point she uses a lacrosse stick). She notes to Scott that as soon as her powers started kicking in she picked it up really quickly. Her mother notes that her katana bring her balance and that's why she's inherently skilled at fighting with it.
Third-Person Sample:
Well...this was, ok maybe not the strangest thing that happened to her, that honor went to finding out she was a Kitsune and her mother was actually 900, but it was definitely up there as one of the strangest things that happened to her. One minute she was watching Scott walk away from her, disappointed that he was apologizing for kissing her (even if it wasn't a real kiss) and the next she was free falling and landing with a giant splash in a...fountain?
She sits up quickly and looks around, pushing wet hair out of her face. What the actual hell? This wasn't Beacon Hills High, this wasn't even Beacon Hills, unless someone got a giant garden with a fountain and didn't tell her. Oh and also transported her there?
Okay, no reason to freak out, this happens all the time right? Yeah right, Kira, keep telling yourself that. She pushed herself up and out of the fountain, dripping water onto the ground as she looks around. It's times like this part of her wishes she was a wolf. She could just howl and Scott could come find her and tell her she wasn't crazy, she just accidentally drank wolfsbane laced water or something. This was all a very strange hallucination that was all. If she just stayed here and waited it would wear off. She would still be at school...
The last time she ended up in a garden when it should have been school was with the Nogitsune...
No, they had trapped it. It was in the box and it wasn't coming back. Oh she really hoped it wasn't coming back, that was not something she ever wanted to go through again. Almost having to kill her new friend who happened to be best friends with the guy she liked was not something she wanted to repeat, ever.
Well, she would just sit here for a few minutes and if nothing happened then she would try to figure out what exactly was going on. She was really hoping for wolfsbane hallucinations and not at all expecting what the truth actually was.

[So she's been in Wonderland for about a week now, and she still thinks that she's going a little crazy. But she supposes she has no other choice than to just accept her fate and make herself comfortable until this place decides to send her back. Which she's told does happen, sometimes. At least Scott and Lydia are here. And Isaac too she supposes, even if they were never very close before he moved away.
There is one thing she really wishes she had though, and that's why she's decided to address the network.
She takes a breath and starts up a video feed, smiling brightly at the camera. You catch more flies with honey, or so she's heard...or was it bees?]
Hi Wonderland. I'm Kira, the new girl, I guess. Just had a question, will the closest really give us anything? Does that mean anything from home? Like say a certain katana that's a family heirloom? [And that she would really like to have with her in case she needs to fight.]
Um, I guess that's all I had to ask. So thanks in advance?
[She waves awkwardly at the camera and then immediately regrets it, ending the feed before anyone can see her facepalm.]

Character Name: Kira Yukimaura
Series: Teen Wolf
Timeline: Season 4 Episode 3 right after Scott tells her they will talk later and right before he comes back in and kisses her.
Canon Resource Link: Teen Wolf Wiki
Character History:
